The 100-room, 10-villa W Bali – Ubud, developed in partnership with Indonesia’s Ruang Teknik Group and Marriott International, marks the second W property in Indonesia, following the opening of W Bali – Seminyak in 2010.
Modern interpretations of traditional Balinese art styles with works from local artists will be seen throughout the property. Designers will weave Balinese festival culture into the project alongside carved stone and Pura (terra cotta) finishes throughout. The hotel will also feature an extensive wellness program as well as a pool deck showcasing terraced pools inspired by the rice paddles historically used in the region. The villas will offer their own private swimming pools.
The development will bring several on-site restaurants and bars, including all-day Morinda and specialty restaurant Synn, which is partially underground and opens toward a jungle cliff. The hotel’s Wanderbar will offer cocktails from a space with panoramic views. The project also includes a 577-sq.-ft. meeting room.
