Vision Hospitality Group is launching a new boutique brand, Kinley. Designed to provide a modern approach to the hotel experience that the hotelier bills as “warm and effortless,” the flag will be part of the overarching new Humanist lifestyle portfolio, debuting in Cincinnati in late 2019, followed by Vision’s home city of Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 2020.
Humanist will also include The Grady Hotel, set to open next year in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Launching in November, the portfolio will specialize in concepting, designing, developing and managing lifestyle hotels and restaurants in emerging neighborhoods in the U.S..
Kinley, derived from the word kinship, will comprise properties that are integrated into their local communities. Each hotel will channel the authentic vibe and energy of the community, all with a small-city charm. The brand will feature a variety of distinctive touchpoints, including a more casual welcome experience with an “uncheck-in” desk. Items from regional artisans will be on display and available for purchase.
Designed by Washington D.C.-based Streetsense, the brand’s first hotel in Cincinnati will have 94 guestrooms. Built in 1910, the property is located between the downtown area and up-and-coming Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Kinley Cincinnati will feature a three-meal restaurant, Watercress, developed in partnership with Edward Lee and to be led by Cincinnati-born Chef Kevin Ashworth.
Kinley’s second location will comprise 64 guestrooms. That property will open in Chattanooga’s Southside entertainment district in 2020.
