Umami Burger has debuted its first-ever beachfront airstream as part of sbe’s $4.2 billion project at Baha Mar in the Bahamas. The food and beverage outlet joins seven other eateries at the resort, including Fi’lia, Katsuya, Cleo, Bungalow, Bond, Privilege, Monkey Bar and two additional venues to open by year-end.

Designed by Dakota Development, sbe’s subsidiary in charge of design and development, the airstream pays homage to the vibrant colors seen throughout the Bahamas. The trailer is clad in Umami’s signature shade of orange. Many of the same dishes found in the restaurant’s original Southern California haunt can be found at Baha Mar.

The announcement of Umami Burger’s Baha Mar airstream follows recent news of a collaboration with chef Daniel Boulud, the opening of Umami’s second location in Tokyo and an exclusive partnership with Impossible Foods. Part of sbe’s Disruptive Restaurant Group, Umami Burger has 16 outposts in the U.S. with plans to open four franchise locations in Mexico City. Additional international expansion is in the near future, including 40 more locations in Mexico, 10-plus in Japan, and outposts in the UAE and Qatar.
