Boutique Design Events and Trade Fairs

The James Hotel is coming to Washington, D.C., via a strategic partnership involving Denihan Hospitality, Trammell Crow Co. and KochSmith Capital. This will be the fourth representative of the luxury boutique brand; there are currently two in New York and one in Chicago.

Slated to open in 2020, the 204-key James Washington D.C. will serve as the hotel component of Armature Works, a mixed-use development that will break ground in the Washington’s NoMa neighborhood later this year. Information on the design team for the hotel was not immediately available.

Trammell Crow and KochSmith will develop The James Washington D.C., while Denihan will manage the hotel under a long-term contract. The property will feature 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, a signature restaurant on the ground floor and a rooftop bar. The Armature Works development will also include a 465-unit apartment building, a 170-unit condominium building, outdoor public spaces and 42,000 sq. ft. of street-level retail.
