Marriott Intl.’s luxury brand, EDITION, is headed to Tampa. The 173-key hotel is set to debut in 2021 as part of a 26-story tower in Tampa’s Water Street neighborhood, which will also feature a previously announced 519-key JW Marriott that’s slated to open a year earlier. 

The EDITION’s interiors will be designed by New York-based Roman and Williams, with architecture by New York’s Morris Adjmi in collaboration with local Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates. 

The EDITION (a brand created via a partnership between famed hotelier Ian Schrager and Marriott) will showcase a rooftop pool with an adjacent bar and restaurant, as well as a spa and fitness center. A selection of F&B venues and retail spaces programmed by the Ian Schrager Co., including a high-end restaurant, will anchor the property’s ground floor.

Developer Strategic Property Partners is also fully renovating the nearby 727-room Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina. That update hotel is set for completion in spring 2019, and construction of the JW Marriott is slated to begin this month.

EDITION has hotels in New York, Miami, London and Sanya, China, with seven properties across three continents scheduled to open this year.
