Standard Intl., the parent company of boutique hotel brands Standard Hotels and Bunkhouse Group, will develop 15 properties across the globe, including the company’s first European hotel.
The 266-room The Standard, London, will be housed within a converted office building that Camden Council previously occupied. Additionally, three new floors will be built on top of the existing building. Interiors will be designed by Shawn Hausman Design, which the company has partnered with for its five current Standard hotels. The London property will be the first for the brand outside the United States and is set to open sometime this year.
In 2017, Bangkok-based real estate development group Sansiri PCL invested $58 million in Standard Intl. Currently, expansion plans include new hotels in the Maldives, Bangkok, Phuket, Jakarta, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Lisbon, Mexico City, London, Paris and Milan. The Standard brand has hotels in Los Angeles, West Hollywood, Miami and New York.
