A new skyscraper planned for Belgrade will be home to a St. Regis hotel and an affiliated set of branded residences. The Kula Belgrade, the tallest proposed building in Serbia, is expected to open in 2020 with a 119-key St. Regis Belgrade hotel on its first 11 levels, and 220 residences on floors 14 through 39.
The Kula building is being designed by AECOM, while HOK is set to design the interiors for the hotel and residences. Project participants say those spaces will represent a blend of local heritage and global trends.
St. Regis, a luxury brand of Marriott Intl., operates about 40 hotels and resorts globally. Belgrade will mark the first European locale for the St. Regis branded residences, which are currently located in 12 countries in such cities as New York, Bangkok, Atlanta and Abu Dhabi.
