From March through May, Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, will offer a sauna via the Solar Egg created by the artist duo Bigert & Bergström for Swedish housing company Riksbyggen. The collaboration focuses on climate change and humans’ role in the world’s rising temperature and its effect in the Arctic.
The artwork and sauna were first constructed in spring 2017 to celebrate Riksbyggen’s construction of 250 homes in Malmfälten. Solar Egg has made stops in Paris, the U.S., and Copenhagen, along with several locations in Sweden, including Artipelag cultural center in Stockholm.
