The EDITION luxury hotel brand, a creation of boutique hotel pioneer Ian Schrager in partnership with Marriott Intl., is slated to launch seven new properties across three continents in 2018. Set to open by mid-year are EDITIONs in Shanghai, Bodrum, New York, Barcelona and Bangkok, followed by locales in Abu Dhabi and West Hollywood locales by year-end.
Here are some details on those new hotels:
This hotel will feature 147 guest rooms in two separate hotel towers. Its 10 levels of public space will include five meeting studios and two forum spaces totaling more than 2,800 sq. ft. Food and beverage outlets will include a signature Japanese restaurant, a Cantonese restaurant, an all-day dining venue, a lobby bar, an indoor nightlife venue and a rooftop bar.
Located at the western point of the Bodrum peninsula, this hotel will feature 99 guest rooms, suites and villas, some with private pools, balconies and gardens. It will include an infinity pool, a garden lounge, spa facilities with Turkish Hammam and a beach club with a jetty that houses private cabanas. F&B options will include a library bar, specialty grill, night club and an all-day dining venue. The hotel will also include more than 4,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including studios, a ballroom and boardrooms.
Times Square, New York
This 457-key hotel, at 701 Seventh Avenue and 47th Street, will include four levels of public space, including a 5,000 sq. ft. performance venue, a 1,900 sq. ft. meeting studio, a lobby lounge, a signature restaurant with an adjoining 5,800-sq.-ft. beer garden and event deck, and an all-day dining venue with terraces. This will be the brand’s second locale in New York; the first is housed in the former Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. headquarters in the city’s Flatiron District.
This EDITION will feature 100 guest rooms, a signature restaurant, a lobby bar and café, a sky bar, a pool, a fitness center and a night club. It will be located in the city’s Cuitat Vella District.
Based in a Thai skyscraper, this 155-key hotel will feature five levels of public spaces with more than 5,500 sq. ft. of combined meeting space, including a boardroom, main function room and an outdoor banquet terrace. The hotel will also include two signature restaurants, a lobby bar and a pool bar.
This hotel will feature 244 guest rooms and 57 exclusive residences. F&B offerings will include two signature restaurants, a gourmet market, lobby bar, tea lounge, pool bar and a three-story nightclub. Located in the city’s downtown waterfront district, it will also feature more than 107,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, including meeting studios, ballrooms and boardrooms.
Located on West Sunset Boulevard, this hotel will be home to 190 guest rooms, 20 luxury residences, a rooftop pool, a spa and more than 5,200 sq. ft. of meeting space. Dining options will include a signature restaurant, a lobby lounge, a rooftop venue and a nightclub/bar.
The brand also plans nine additional hotel launches across five continents by 2020, which will give it a total of 20 properties.
