Hong Kong is set to get a second hotel from the Mojo Nomad brand this September. The 56-room Mojo Nomad Central will join the brand’s debut Hong Kong property, Mojo Nomad Aberdeen. The brand was created by Ovolo Hotels, an independent hospitality company that owns and operates a collection of independent boutique hotels, as well as the Ovolo Hotels brand.
Mojo Nomad, which was created by Ovolo ceo Girish Jhunjhnuwala in 201702, is founded on the idea that guests should connect with new people. That’s why communal spaces are key to the hotel’s design. Mojo Nomad Central, built on the brand’s “homstel” co-living concept that seeks to tackle the lack of space in Hong Kong, will combine a mix of room types, including private options for families and groups. Family rooms can accommodate up to five people with two queen-sized beds and a single bed. Other room types include: dormitories that can house three people as well as female-only dorms; private rooms; a party room with four en-suites that sleeps up to 14 people; and other combinations.
The hotel’s bar also acts as the reception desk and is adorned with neon accents, including a large “Get a Room” sign in bright pink above. The two-story, on-site restaurant Te Quiero Mucho will offer plates meant for sharing as well as artisanal tequilas and will, like the reception desk and bar, also use neon accents as design signature..
Founded in 2002, Ovolo Hotels roperatesuns four hotels in Hong Kong and six hotels in Australia, including in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra. The Mojo Nomad brand will be entering Australia soon.
