Marski by Scandic is Scandic’s first signature hotel in Helsinki, Finland, and the fifth of its kind. Originally opened in 1962, the hotel was renovated to become a Scandic signature hotel that seeks to embody “Finnfulness,” the open mindedness, urban lifestyle and love of nature that personifies modern Finns.
The hotel’s interiors are inspired by the dark green Finnish woods, lakes and warm reds of Finnish berries. The hotel’s light wooden floors are paired with gray stone reminiscent of the cliffs in the Finnish archipelago. The furniture is a blend of modern Finnish design and influences from abroad. In the hotel rooms, images of nature by local photographer Seppo Alanko adorn the walls.
Scandic’s signature hotels are a collection of lifestyle hotels. In addition to Marski by Scandic, the collection includes Haymarket by Scandic and Downtown Camper in Stockholm, Grand Hotel Oslo and Hotel Norge in Bergen.
