Room Mate Hotels has opened its latest property, in Istanbul’s Beyoglu district. The 47-key Room Mate Emir was designed by famed Spanish designer Lázaro Rosa Violán, who intermingled avant-garde furnishings with the building’s existing classical elements.
“Room Mate Hotels are located in the center of the most emblematic and cosmopolitan cities in the world and Istanbul is one of them,” says company founder and president Enrique “Kike” Sarasola, who was named one of Boutique Design’s Up-and-Coming Hoteliers in 2015. “It is a place where exoticism and culture merge to offer a unique travel experience. We are completely in love with Istanbul. For this reason, we are very proud to increase our portfolio with Emir, our new elegant, modern and stylish new friend.”
Madrid-based Room Mate operates 21 other personality-driven hotels in such cities as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Mexico City, Miami, Milan and New York, with plans to open eight more properties in gateway cities in the coming year.
