Rockwell Group has named Greg Keffer partner. Keffer, who joined the firm led by founder and president David Rockwell in 2012, will continue to serve as studio leader in addition to his expanded role, which will cover such initiatives as staff development. His current hospitality projects include Nobu Downtown (New York), Union Square Cafe and Daily Provisions (New York), Moxy Miami, Hotel EMC2 (Chicago), W Madrid and MGM Cotai (Macau). Prior to joining Rockwell, Keffer’s career included stints as design director at Jeffrey Beers Intl. and a principal at STUDIOS Architecture. Keffer is the second partner at Rockwell Group, joining Shawn Sullivan.

Marriott Intl. has opened its first Aloft hotel in Australia, a 224-key property in Perth. The hotel features a modern aesthetic with open public spaces decked out in bold and locally inspired details. The brand’s Re:mix lounge and WXYZ bar are also on tap. The Aloft is the centerpiece of an urban renewal project in the Springs Rivervale community, which is located alongside Swan River near the Perth Central Business District.
Dromoland Castle in Co. Clare., Ireland, has unveiled plans for a $22 million renovation program, which will preserve its historic buildings and 330 acres of land, Dublin-based newstalk.com reports. The work will include a refurbishment of the castle bedrooms, new en-suite bathrooms for each bedroom, and a restoration of the property’s stone façade.
Kitchen and bath company Kohler Co. has debuted its first-ever KOHLER Experience Center in New York. The 10,000-sq.-ft. space was created as a retail venue offering design professionals hands-on access to the company’s global suite of products. Featuring fully-functioning showers, tubs, sinks, toilets and related offerings, the center is home to a private bathing space where customers can try its Real Rain, DTV+ digital showering system and VibrAcoustic hydrotherapy products, among others. The company plans to open similar outposts in London, Los Angeles, Singapore, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok, New Delhi and Taipei. The New York flagship is run by and operated in partnership with Best Plumbing Supply.
