The Fairmont Royal Pavilion Barbados has unveiled plans for a major renovation spearheaded by London-based hospitality design firm Richmond Intl. The designers say they will draw inspiration from the oceanfront resort’s plantation heritage to create the new look.
Scheduled for completion in mid-November, the project will involve a transformation of the 72-key hotel’s lobby, guest rooms and suites. The property also plans to revamp its restaurant next summer.
The hotel will remain open for the first part of the renovation, from Aug. 21 through Sept. 28. Then it will close for the more extensive part of the work before relaunching on Nov. 12.
