Two Roads Hospitality’s Joie de Vivre unit has announced plans to debut the Revival at Mount Vernon Place hotel in early 2018. Developed by Denver-based real estate company nuovoRE, the 107-key 14-story hotel will be housed in a building dating to 1929.

Designed by local Schamu Machowski + Patterson Architects (SM+P Architects) and SLDesign, the new hotel’s design will reflect its setting in the city’s historic Mount Vernon neighborhood. In guest rooms, that local flavor is reflected in such touches as a quilt with abstract artwork of Chesapeake Bay, locally sourced art and hardwood floors inspired by pilings from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

“Home to a thriving arts and culture scene, Baltimore’s lively Mount Vernon neighborhood is a natural fit for our next Joie de Vivre property,” says Jamie Sabatier, ceo of Two Roads Hospitality. “Joie de Vivre is an eclectic boutique hotel brand with locations that draw inspiration from the people and places around them. Revival will celebrate the energy of the city of Baltimore, while honoring and paying homage to the quaint spirit of Mount Vernon.”

The hotel will offer three dining and drinking options, including Square Meal, a ground-floor signature restaurant serving seasonal American fare; a lobby-level lounge; and Topside, a rooftop restaurant and bar serving local seafood. The property’s four event spaces consist of Friday Evening, a private dining room; Kindred and Bailiwick, two 1,000 sq. ft. banquet rooms; and Raybord Crise Garden, an enclosed rooftop space. Revival will also include three karaoke rooms, each drawing inspiration from different design eras.
