Dutch micro-hotel chain citizenM Hotels is expanding to Boston. The Amsterdam-based hotelier has signed a lease for a 260-key property at The Hub on Causeway, a mixed-used development that’s being built on the former site of the Boston Garden sports arena, the Boston Herald reports.
The value-centric luxury brand is subleasing the planned 10-story hotel tower, which will be tucked in between two taller glass buildings within the 1.5-million-sq.-ft. complex, according to the newspaper. Delaware North and Boston Properties are the developers behind the mixed-use project.
CitizenM opened its first U.S. hotel in New York’s Times Square in 2014, and plans to debut another in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood, as well as properties in Hollywood, Seattle and San Francisco. The flag’s nine-hotel portfolio also includes properties in the Netherlands, Glasgow, London and Paris.
