Marriott Intl.’s Autograph Collection is heading to Oregon with plans to debut the Hi-Lo Hotel in downtown Portland early next year. Housed within the historic Oregon Pioneer Building, the 120-key property’s guest rooms are being created by ODADA (Orlando Diaz-Azcuy Design Associates) of San Francisco, while its lobby, lower level and restaurant/bar have been envisioned by locally based Jessica Helgerson Interior Design. Arris Studio Architects of San Luis Obispo, California, is the architect for the boutique project.
The hotel will feature what designers describe as a “raw and refined aesthetic.” Accommodations will include five executive corner king rooms and five one-bedroom suites—all of which will be outfitted with modern, organic furnishings, project participants say.
F&B concepts will include cocktail hotspot the Lo Bar, as well as the upscale Alto-Bajo Mexican restaurant. Helmed by Michelin-starred chef Chip Barnes, the restaurant will feature a menu developed in collaboration with famed Oaxacan chef Iliana de la Vega. A 24-hour fitness center and meeting/event space are also planned.
