A renovated 16th century farmhouse from director of design Olga Polizzi will become the 40-room Masseria Torre Maizza, a Rocco Forte Hotel.
Polizzi blends colorful prints with local white linens and terracotta for an elegant feel with rustic undertones. Heavy carpets and wicker furniture are used in the suites, and Polizzi has personally sourced local craftsmanship and artifacts to give guestrooms a personal character and sense of place.
The resort will also house a restaurant from Rocco Forte’s creative director of food, Maestro Fulvio Pierangelini. The space will feature a vaulted dining room, surrounded by gardens and an orchard. The project will open this May.
