Australia’s Nic Graham has been tapped to design public spaces for the newest hotel from Sydney-based QT Hotels & Resorts, the QT Perth, which will open this August. Shelley Indyk from Indyk Architects, a long-time collaborator with QT, designed the guestrooms.
The hotel, to be located in Perth’s central business district near Swan River, will stand 18 stories and offer 184 guestrooms that will feature ceramics hand made by locals. Local jarrah timber, velvet, polished brass and black cockatoo prints adorn the guestrooms. In the bathrooms, dark stone is a focal point of the tiled walls.
Several meeting and event spaces, including seven conference rooms, can accommodate 315 people. A rooftop bar takes advantage of the building’s height and showcases the highest party venue in the city, with panoramic views of Swan River, Perth Hills and Optus Stadium.
QT Perth marks the brand’s first property on Australia’s West Coast. QT has 10 hotels in its portfolio, according to its website.
