Benjamin Appelbaum has joined JLL’s Hotels and Hospitality Group as vice president of strategic advisory & asset management for the Caribbean and Latin America. Appelbaum will be based in the consulting, investment banking and brokerage firm’s Miami office, partnering with managing director Clay Dickinson to support its clients in the region.

Appelbaum comes from Halyard Hospitality Group, a consultancy that provides advisory work on F&B operations. Prior to this, he was the general manager of Miami’s Beaker & Gray, as well as the executive chef for J. Alexander’s Corp., where he also served as the youngest general manager in company history.

“The addition of Ben underscores our commitment to creating the best team to serve the requirements of an increasingly global client base, especially in the rapidly growing Spanish-speaking Caribbean, Mexican and South American markets,” says Dickinson. “Ben’s unique skill set in food and beverage complements his broader knowledge of the hotel industry, further strengthening a specialized expertise that’s increasingly important to successful hotel operations in the region.”

Appelbaum adds, "I’m thrilled to join JLL’s Hotels and Hospitality Group, as its global platform and talented investment advisers are unmatched. There’s a tremendous opportunity to improve operations in the Caribbean and Latin America. I’m excited to advise our clients on ways to streamline operations to create additional investment value."
