Pendry Hotels has been selected as the hotel operating partner for Manhattan West, an eight-acre, six-building mixed-use development located in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards district. The brand’s first New York property will be designed by architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill with interiors by Gachot Studios.
Designed for the modern luxury traveler, project participants say Pendry Manhattan West will bring the most compelling aspects of both coasts—California ease and Manhattan energy—to the city. The hotel will feature 164 guestrooms including 30 suites, a signature restaurant, a lounge, an open-air terrace bar, and meeting and event space.
Joining the complex’s 844 residential units and more than six million sq. ft. of custom-designed, class-A office space, the hotel is expected to break ground in the third quarter of 2018 and slated to be completed by 2021.
“New York City is a destination we’ve had our eyes set on for many years, and Brookfield Properties is the ideal partner to collaborate on Pendry Hotels’ debut [in the city],” says Alan Fuerstman, founder, chairman and ceo of Montage Intl. “We look forward to becoming a centerpiece of the community through the design, amenities and signature service we’ll provide at Pendry Manhattan West.”
Ric Clark, senior managing partner and chairman, Brookfield Property Group and Brookfield Property Partners, adds: “We’re thrilled to partner with Pendry Hotels because of its strong, aspirational, design- and service-centric brand that will deliver a uniquely modern sensibility and help Manhattan West come alive.”
Pendry Hotels is a luxury hospitality brand from Montage Intl., founded by Alan Fuerstman and Michael Fuerstman, one of Boutique Design’s 2018 Up-and-Coming Hoteliers. This Manhattan West property marks the brand’s fourth hotel announcement and follows the openings of locales in San Diego and Baltimore.
