W Refreshes its Hotels
Three hotels in Atlanta get new look
W Hotels Worldwide is revealing major renovations to its three hotels in Atlanta, the W Atlanta – Midtown, W Atlanta – Buckhead and W Atlanta – Downtown. Led by the brand’s design team and other partners, over 750 guestrooms, multiple bars and restaurants, and more than 50,000 sq. ft. of meeting space will get refreshed. These renovations are just part of a larger plan to refresh several W properties across North America, an investment by owners of about $200 million.
The 466-room W Atlanta – Midtown’s renovation is inspired by Atlanta’s nickname “the city in the woods.” The hotel now sports a floral motif with a modern feel across all its public spaces, including the Living Room (pictured), the check-in desk and the patio. Each of the guestrooms offers playful décor, unique murals by Imaggo Production that are a nod to Atlanta as an epicenter of music and entertainment.
In partnership with Atlanta's C+TC Studio (who is designing the guestrooms and rooftop bar, Whiskey Blue), interior designer STUDIO 11 (the visionaries behind the new Living Room), and the brand's design team, W Atlanta – Buckhead will unveil its new look in February. The new design incorporates artwork from local artists, including guestroom art by Lela Brunet, WET Deck (pool deck) mural by Greg Mike, Living Room and Whiskey Blue murals by Chris Veal.
At the W Atlanta – Downtown, new restaurant Local Motives combines Atlanta's BeltLine Project, a newfound symbol of revitalization in the city, with street art. Local artist and Georgia native Eric Randall collaborated with Puccini Group's designers to ground the project in a sense of place. Randall designed and painted large-scale graphics, including the mural that spans six walls.
