Otesaga Adds 1909
Restaurant designed by Tag Studio
The Otesaga Resort Hotel, located on the shores of New York’s Otsego Lake in Cooperstown, has added a new restaurant, 1909. The steakhouse joins the 110-year-old property, paying homage to the year The Otesaga opened its doors.
Lewisburg, West Virginia-based Tag Studio designed the 86-seat restaurant. 1909 celebrates the resort’s historical architecture through its high ceilings and intricately designed woodwork and accents, including unveiling a visible fireplace below the bar area. A key design goal was to match the old-world style and feel of the hotel. New design touches add to the space, such as featuring a blend of rich, salmon-color tones, cherry wood-made tables, classic leather chairs, and several 116-in. antique mirrors. Most of the interior décor was hand-crafted in the United States.
Executive chef Jim Perillo is at the helm of the new restaurant, which provides a fine-dining alternative to the resort’s other options, Hawkeye Bar & Grill and Glimmerglass.
