SILVERSANDS HEADS TO CARIBBEAN
French design firm AW2 leads the design
A new upscale resort is on the horizon for the Caribbean. The 43-suite Silversands Grenada will open in November, showcasing a minimalist design led by French design firm AW2.
The resort spans two newly constructing buildings off Grand Anse beach that house the suites, including a 2,000-sq.-ft. penthouse. Set in the neighboring background are nine villas, including five 4,400 sq.-ft. Beachfront Villas with direct access to the beach and four three-bedroom Hillside Villas.
Floor-to-ceiling windows in suites frame the beauty of Grenada, which is dubbed the “Spice Isle” for its hilly main island and nutmeg plantations. The suites’ design complements the region with natural wood and stone textures throughout. Original artwork in suites and public spaces will help to build design continuity throughout the property. A rotating exhibit will feature Grenadian creations along with pieces from owner Naguib Sawiris’s collection—an example of AW2’s plan to blend local and contemporary influences.
The resort also includes a 339 -ft. infinity pool that extends onto the sand. The Silversands Spa comprises four treatment rooms as well as a sauna, hammam, pool and fitness center. Highlighting the island’s cuisine are two restaurants, the Grenadian Grill and Asiatique.
