Rosewood Debuts in Cambodia
Melbourne's BAR Studio designs luxury hotel in Phnom Penh
The Rosewood Hotels & Resorts flag is now flying in Phnom Penh. The new hotel was designed by Melbourne's BAR Studio and is located in the top 14 floors of the 39-story Vattanac Capital Tower in the Cambodian capital’s central business district.
The Rosewood Phnom Penh features 175 guest rooms, including 37 suites. Project participants say the hotel’s interiors blend Khmer architecture, the country's French colonial heritage and local craft techniques.
The hotel’s dining venues include: Brasserie Louis, a French and Cambodian restaurant on level 35; The Living Room, a residential-inspired space that transitions from day to night; Iza, an izakaya-style Japanese restaurant with an open kitchen; and Sora, a sky bar on a cantilevered terrace. (Two of those restaurants were created by Tokyo-based Bond Design Studio, but information on specifically which ones was not immediately available.) Other amenities include Sense, a Rosewood Spa; a fitness center; an indoor lap pool; and meeting facilities.
