OCEANIA TO RENOVATE FOUR SHIPS
The $100 million renovation includes 1,368 suites and staterooms
Oceania Cruises is instituting its OceaniaNEXT initiative, which will result in refreshed suites, décor and restaurants of four ships—Regatta, Insignia, Sirena and Nautica—from Miami-based design and concept firm Studio DADO.
The ships’ interiors will be grounded in a residential feel with furniture from Baker and Donghia. Public spaces will be laden with fabrics from Rubelli and Kravet, and custom-milled carpets will line the floors. A grand staircase will be framed by railings and balustrades adorned with crystal accents. A grand chandelier with pieces of smoked and hand-painted glass will be a focal point of the Reception Hall.
Guestrooms will be taken down to the studs during the renovation process to create a whole new look that will be brighter and more spacious. Contemporary custom furniture and exotic stone will be featured throughout.
The renovation will cost $100 million and touch 1,368 suites and staterooms across the four ships. The ships will also see 1,400 bathrooms rehabbed, 8,000 light fixtures upgraded and 12,000 new pieces of furniture added. Insignia will be the first to debut on Dec. 7, followed by Sirena in May 2019, Regatta in September 2019 and Nautica in June 2020.
