Nobu Set for Barcelona
Rockwell Group updating existing Selenta property
The Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya in Barcelona will be reborn late next year as a Nobu Hotel and Restaurant, after undergoing an update spearheaded by Rockwell Group. Slated to open at the end of next year, the 250-key property will continue to be a member of the Selenta Group collection in a shared-management agreement with Nobu Hospitality.

Project participants say Rockwell’s work will result in “an iconic Barcelona setting that will create a seamless integration of luxury hospitality and the finest in food and beverage.” In addition to its accommodations, the 23-story Nobu Hotel Barcelona will offer meeting rooms, event spaces and a signature Nobu restaurant on its top floor.
"We are extremely proud to be partnering with the Spanish company Selenta Group on such an exciting project, and we look forward to working with the Catalan community,” says Trevor Horwell, ceo of Nobu Hospitality. “In announcing this new hotel, we are continuing our solid world-wide growth by establishing our 13th Nobu Hotel within our special collection."
Jordi Mestre, Selenta Group's owner and executive president, says his company’s alliance with Nobu Hospitality “consolidates our purpose of offering unique experiences in the hospitality and restaurant management sector… The excellent location and the great transformation of our hotel into Nobu Hotel Barcelona strengthens the expansion of both companies and reinforces the international image of the Catalan capital."
Nobu Hospitality was founded by the power trio of chef Nobu Matsuhisa, actor Robert De Niro and movie producer Meir Teper.
