Milestone Unveils New Suites
Design led by Red Carnation founder
Situated in a Victorian mansion, London’s Milestone Hotel & Residences has renovated two suites as part of a three-year refurbishment program of the property. Red Carnation Hotel Collection’s founder and president Beatrice Tollman, along with her daughter Tori Tollman, led the design of the historic Red Carnation rooms. The hotel is both Red Carnation’s London flagship and a member of Leading Hotels of the World.
The 106 Grand Master Suite, also known as The Hermès Suite, balances mid-20th century design with the building’s history. Original period furniture accents the deep green carpet and bronze four-post bed at the center of the room, while a vintage collection of Hermès silk scarves create a visual masterpiece against the white velvet walls. Guests are also invited into the space with floor-to-ceiling lead door frames in a room that’s 12 ft. tall.
The Tollman duo worked with master craftsmen and artisans to pay tribute to the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, in the Meghan Suite. The suite’s focal points are an 18th-century French bureau plat, Giacometti-style chairs and original modern art on the walls. The custom Savoir bed is bordered by unique Indian silks. Set behind bronzed, mirrored double doors, the bathroom is adorned in black and white marble.
