Boutique/lifestyle hotel brand Mama Shelter has unveiled plans for its first locale in the Czech Republic, a 238-key locale in Prague. Slated to open later this year, the property will be housed within a former Parkhotel and feature a design by São Paulo-based architect Jalil Amor.

The 10-floor property, located near Stromovka Park, will have accommodations comprised of three guest room types: the 194-sq.-ft Mama Medium, the 269-sq.-ft. Mama XL and the 474-sq.-ft. Mama XXL, as well as one 753-sq.-ft. penthouse.

Project participants say Mama Shelter Prague will be defined by an expansive outdoor terrace. Other highlights will include five meeting rooms, a 300-seat restaurant, a basketball court and a gym.

The Trigano Family, co-founders of all-inclusive resort owner/operator Club Med, launched Mama Shelter eight years ago with the opening of a hotel in Paris. Since then, the flag has expanded in such locales as Marseille, Lyon and Bordeaux in France; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Los Angeles. In 2014, AccorHotels bought a 35 percent stake in Mama Shelter.

“We knew the Golden City was the perfect location for our seventh Mama Shelter because it’s a vibrant destination filled with dreamers and explorers, which aligns perfectly with the Mama ethos,” says Mama Shelter founder Serge Trigano.
