MADE Hotel Debuts in New York
Studio MAI created property’s guest rooms
New York developer Sam Gelin has opened his first MADE Hotel, in the city’s NoMad neighborhood. The 108-key, 18-story newbuild hotel features guest rooms designed by Studio MAI, whose team said it incorporated “elements of iconic global simplicity” into the spaces. Such touches include exposed raw-bronze shelving and handwoven fabrics that serve as a backdrop for multi-directional day-bed platforms.

Highlights of the public spaces include a mural by Brooklyn-based artist Bill Rebholz, which covers the stairwell that leads from the lobby to a subterranean level that’s home to the Ferris restaurant and an adjoining courtyard. The hotel’s other F&B offerings include Paper, a coffee shop; Proechel and Seich’s restaurant; a lobby level bar; and Good Behavior, a rooftop bar and lounge.
