JW Marriott heads to Nashville
Room design nods to industrial past
Nashville has another new flag with the opening of the JW Marriott. Developed and owned by Turnberry Associates, the 533-key, 5-star property located across the street from the Music City Center convention complex, is housed in a 33-story glass tower designed by Arquitectonica and features interiors from Stonehill Taylor.
The design concept highlights a contemporary, masculine aesthetic complete with rich colors that draw from the city’s industrial history. Each of the property’s guestrooms showcases wood paneling with bursts of warm earth tones and bronze finishes. Geometric carpet keeps the residential styling grounded.
“The JW Marriott Nashville embodies the city’s creative spirit, and Stonehill Taylor’s elegant design strikes the perfect balance with the energy of downtown Nashville,” says Jackie Soffer, ceo and co-chairman of Turnberry Associates. “There is no denying that Nashville is having a moment right now, and we are excited to play a part of this dynamic city’s renaissance.”
Topping off the hotel’s footprint is a rooftop pool; a full-service spa also designed by Stonehill Taylor; more than 50,000 sq. ft. of indoor event space, including two ballrooms, 16 meeting rooms and two boardrooms; and a 13,000 sq. ft. outdoor event lawn.
