GRAND HYATT HEADS TO GREECE
309-key hotel marks flag’s Greek debut
Grand Hyatt’s debut hotel in Greece combines historic-inspired architecture with contemporary design in the cultural and notable hub of the country’s capital.
The hotel by Hyatt Hotels Corp., is managed by Kokari Ltd. and developed by real estate investment companies Henderson Park and Hines. It fuses old and new through curated art that is reminiscent of the ancient city, provided by the nearby Museum of Cycladic Art. “The Coin” installation is showcased in the dazzling lobby. The piece was created from replicas of ancient coins and represents Greek economic supremacy in the fifth century BC.
The hotel’s rooftop is home to a restaurant overlooking the Acropolis neighborhood of Athens and an outdoor pool. Another on-site eatery, Aphrodite, is a lounge-style restaurant in the lobby area serving up patisserie goods, salads and sandwiches. An additional wellness center has four treatment rooms, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a Hammam set to open in early 2019. Nearly 21,500 sq. ft. of meeting and event space completes the hotel’s footprint.
