Dolce Opens First Cincy Hotel
HBA converts former doorbell factory into The Summit, an art-centric Wyndham property
Dolce Hotels and Resorts by Wyndham has debuted The Summit, the brand’s first hotel in Cincinnati. The 239-key hotel, housed in a former doorbell factory in the city’s Madisonville neighborhood, features interiors by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) with a strong emphasis on group conference and collaborative spaces. Locally based CR architecture + design is the architect of record, the Cincinnati Business Courier reports.
The hotel is housed in a building that was once occupied by the NuTone doorbell factory, and later by a rainbow-colored parking garage for the adjoining headquarters complex of Medpace. Weaving the building's industrial history with modern, art-centric touches, the lobby's 20-foot ceilings showcase the structure’s original, exposed sandblasted columns. The space also showcases a metal screen reception desk with a display case for industrial factory parts and a massive modern abstract mural along the wall. In a nod to the former colorful parking garage, the hotel's atrium is wrapped in a band of rainbow panels.

Other hotel amenities include 32,600 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor event space, such as the Madisonville Ballroom, 17 meeting rooms and a rooftop terrace. The property also features three F&B venues: The Overlook Kitchen + Bar, Brew & Barrel and The Market.
“Dolce hotels inspire guests through design transforming every element of the hotel experience into an extraordinary moment,” says Richard Maxfield, vice president, operations, Dolce Hotels and Resorts by Wyndham. “The Summit is a nod to local Cincinnati culture and cuisine with the inspired Dolce twist, amplified by creative spaces and collaborative moments the brand is known for.”
