Curio by Hilton Debuts in Sydney
Fitzpatrick and Partners, Woods Bagot spearhead newbuild hotel’s design
West Hotel Sydney debuts as the first Curio Collection by Hilton hotel in Australia. Located in Sydney’s central business district, the 182-key newbuild hotel was designed by Australian architecture firm Fitzpatrick and Partners, with botanical-inspired interiors by Woods Bagot.
A strong botanical theme runs throughout the property, most evident in the open-air garden atrium and in the white waratah motif in the lobby. The hotel’s design features deep tones with marble and brass accents.
West Hotel Sydney’s F&B options include the Solander Dining and Bar restaurant. Named after the first fleet botanist who arrived in Australia from England, Daniel Solander, the restaurant and bar offer all-day dining with a focus on seasonal and botanical produce.
"Opening the first Curio Collection hotel in Australia is a very exciting milestone for us," says Mark Nogal, global head, Curio Collection by Hilton. "Being such a culturally rich city and the capital of New South Wales, Sydney is the perfect location to add to our growing global collection, which now boasts nearly 50 hotels. West Hotel will offer curious travellers seeking an authentic, memorable travel experience the ideal base to discover Sydney."
Curio Collection by Hilton launched in 2014 and now holds a global portfolio of more than 35 upper upscale hotels and resorts.
