Boutique Design Teams with IIDEXCanada
Partners plan hospitality pavilion for Toronto show
Boutique Design (BD) magazine and its trade fairs, Boutique Design New York (BDNY) and Boutique Design West (BDwest), are partnering with IIDEXCanada to bring a hospitality focus to this year’s design/architecture exposition and conference in Toronto. Part of the Buildings Show, IIDEXCanada will take place Nov. 29-30 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and will involve new hospitality-centric offerings, including a pavilion produced by BD, as well as seminars and other programming.
“We see the Canadian market as a growth area for Boutique Design brands,” says Michelle Finn, president of Hospitality Media Group LLC and senior vice president of ST Media Group Intl., the co-owners of BD. “A pavilion at IIDEXCanada, Canada’s premier commercial design show, is the perfect show to launch and develop a strategic alliance.”
Through this newly established partnership, BD says it will bring its own network and expertise in the areas of inventive furnishings, lighting, fabrics, wallcoverings, flooring and other FF&E for hotels, restaurants, spas, clubs and cruise ships to the Toronto event, which is owned by Informa Canada.
“We see this strategic alliance as an important evolution in IIDEXCanada’s ability to connect with our industry and serve as an important mediator between manufacturers and designers,” says IIDEXCanada vice president Tracy Bowie. “Creating the Boutique Design pavilion at IIDEXCanada 2017 will only intensify our strength to showcase new trends in the hospitality sector.”
Since 2010, BDNY and BDwest have become two of the fastest-growing trade fairs and conferences for the hospitality design industry. Presented annually in New York and Los Angeles, the two-day events connect interior designers, architects, purchasing agents and hospitality owners/developers with manufacturers and marketers of high-caliber design elements for hospitality interiors via intimately scaled displays and Designed Spaces, social hubs showcasing high-design interiors on the trade fair floor. The shows also offer an array of networking events and an extensive conference program geared toward informing and inspiring hospitality design professionals.
