ARCH LONDON UPDATES ROOMS
Four concepts designed around unique wallpapers from Thibaut
The new guestrooms at the 5-star, 82-room Arch London hotel feature pops of color and bespoke fabrics with touches from several designers, including Nina Campbell, Matthew Williamson for Osborne & Little, and Clarke & Clarke.
Owner and operator AB Hotels has been working to revamp the property, which is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, as it enters into its eighth year in business. In this round of updates, one-third of the guestrooms have received a new look, designed with four new concepts developed around unique wallpapers from Thibaut.
The Medallion Paisley theme features emerald green and indigo blue, with pops of violet and white, showcasing a large paisley flower print. The Luzon rooms offer a navy and camel palette based on a garden print and ikat-like pattern mixed with an animal and jungle cat theme. The Imperial Dragon uses tangerine and blue to create a Chinese dragon theme merged with beige. Finally, Sunburst displays a bright fuchsia and Yves Klein blue, based around a daisy print.
Lighting is also an important aspect of the design, and designers use curtains in some rooms while others feature shutters to create a sophisticated and colonial feel. Rooms with curtains have pelmet lighting, and LED strips on headboards light focal walls. Bold and quirky Paul Smith Anglepoise lamps are used in all guestrooms as desk lighting.
