Accor Launches Greet

For the hotelier’s 37th brand, eco-responsible is key

Boutique Design

Accor’s 37th brand, Greet, is positioned in the economy space and billed as a community-based, responsible and non-standardized brand.

Although diversity is the hallmark of its design approach, leadership notes that Greet retains its own unique identity and offers flexibility for hotel owners. The only guidelines for the design are that each hotel must include a number of the brand’s key features, including its logo in the common areas, a large table d’hôte for sharing special moments, and esnure that 20% of rooms can accommodate between four and six people. Design can be expressed as the owner chooses but must stay true to the guidelines of the brand: by salvaging objects sourced via second-hand networks or from eco-responsible suppliers; by upcycling unusual decorative items; and by revisiting these objects to repurpose them and give them a second lease of life.

The brand was soft-launched earlier this year with the opening of its first hotel, the Greet Hotel Beaune, in the Burgundy vineyards of France. Several locations are on tap to open in the near future, notably in Marseille (St Charles et Aéroport), Lyon Perrache, Paris, St-Witz, Rennes, Bourges and St-Germain-en-Laye. Accor hopes to open 300 Greet hotels throughout Europe by 2030. The network will quickly extend to various European destinations, with the German city of Darmstadt welcoming the first Greet hotel outside of France in the coming months.
