New York design practice Reunion Goods & Services has transformed the former Mainstay Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island into the newly opened Wayfinder.
The 197-room property includes a restaurant, lounge, patio, and outdoor swimming pool and is designed to feel more like a house than a hotel. Furnishings in vibrant shades of pink, green, blue, and mustard make a statement against white walls while terrazzo floors and wood-paneled walls create a retro vibe.
The restaurant, Nomi Park, has a lively feel, featuring banquette seating along the tables upholstered in chetah print fabric and red tiled walls.
Guestrooms have a more relaxed feel, with a beach-inspired color and material palette.
