Marriott Intl.’s Moxy Hotels brand is expanding in the southeastern U.S. with the recent debut of Moxy Chattanooga Downtown and the anticipated openings of five more properties.
The Chattanooga hotel was the first of the six to open this past November, and the remaining will follow this year. The hotel was developed by 3H Group and designed by Celano Design Studio. The four-story, 108-room property’s look pays tribute to the diverse mix of art, entertainment and people from the Southside neighborhood.
Slated to debut this month, Moxy Atlanta Midtown was developed by Noble Investment Group. The hotel features guestrooms designed by Baskervill and public spaces created by Streetsense. Meanwhile, Moxy Memphis Downtown and Moxy Nashville Vanderbilt at Hillsboro Village–both designed by Manuel Zeitlin Architects and Bounds and Gillespie Architects–will open in the spring.
Moxy Nashville Downtown (designed by Celano Design Studio) will follow in May of this year. Rounding out the expansion effort is Moxy Louisville, which is scheduled to open in November 2019; designed by HKS Inc. and FlickMars; and developed by White Lodging, Poe Cos. and REI Real Estate Services.
The Moxy brand first debuted in the U.S. with a May 2016 opening in New Orleans. The brand has over 35 hotels open across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
