The Margaritaville Beach Resort Grand Cayman is set to relaunch on Nov. 1 following a multiyear renovation of its 285 guestrooms, the addition of more than 8,500 sq. ft. of meeting/event space and a new fitness center, and updates to its food and beverage program.

Barry Hutchinson, interior designer and architect, led the luxury refresh, creating a casual feel with subtle white-on-white parrot details on the duvet covers and a sea-like color palette that pops in guestrooms. In the bathrooms, fins replace faucet handles. Meanwhile, compasses adorn table tops and cabinets to emphasize the nautical theme. Artwork showcases what the designer refers to as “island escapism” via a collection of beach-life photographs. A palm tree displayed on wooden headboards and driftwood branches that serve as bedside lamps add a tropical touch to the rooms.

Meeting space balances formality and fun by contrasting white wainscoting with Caribbean blue carpet that’s adorned with lime and burnt-orange sand dollars. The space includes a 4,700-sq.-ft. ballroom, a 2,112-sq.-ft. pre-function area, four breakout rooms and an executive boardroom.

The renovation also adds three new restaurants: signature eatery Eating House 1503 from Roy Yamaguchi; pizza joint Frank + Lola’s; and café Spread. Additionally, the hotel now features four pools, one of which has swim-up access to the 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, License to Chill lobby bar.
