Loews Hotels & Co has announced plans to open a Live! by Loews hotel in St. Louis. The 216-key hotel, designed by HKS Architects Hospitality Studio, will be in the city’s Ballpark Village complex. The Live! by Loews-St. Louis is being developed by a partnership involving the hotelier, The Cordish Cos. and the owners of the St. Louis Cardinals professional baseball team.
The $65 million hotel will be part of a mixed-use dining and entertainment district being developed near Busch Stadium. In addition to its accommodations, the 8-story hotel will feature a lounge area and outdoor terrace on its first level that will provide F&B offerings and a private dining area. The hotel’s second floor will be home to 17,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, including a ballroom connected to an outdoor amenity deck.
“Expanding the Live! by Loews name in St. Louis, with partners like The Cordish Cos., the DeWitt family and the St. Louis Cardinals, allows Loews the opportunity to add a unique and immersive hotel into our portfolio,” says Jonathan Tisch, chairman and ceo of Loews Hotels & Co. “Cardinals fans are some of the most loyal and best in Major League Baseball, and we look forward to having a hotel in the epicenter of the already successful Ballpark Village.”
Live! by Loews-St. Louis is set to begin construction later this year and will become the second hotel to wave the Live! flag, following the brand’s location in another pro sports-oriented development, in Arlington, Texas.
