Looney & Associates is redesigning all 610 guestrooms, corridors and the executive lounge at the JW Marriott Chicago. The hotel opened in 2010.
The hotel is located in the Daniel H. Burnham Continental & Commercial National Bank Building which dates back to 1914. The design will honor the influence early Pullman rail cars had on travel accommodations in Chicago. Interiors will make use of rectilinear lines and soft curves reminiscent of travel paths. Layered metal finishes, plush wovens and dark wood tones signal the richness of the Pullman era, while soothing neutrals are accented with pops of color. Lighting will be reminiscent of a conductor’s lantern.
The project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2020.
