InterContinental Hotels Group plans a new midscale brand. Details, including the flag’s name, will be unveiled at the IHG Americas Conference later this month in Las Vegas.
Preliminary information on the new brand was disclosed by Elie Maalouf, IHG’s ceo, the Americas, today at the NYU International Hospitality Investment Conference. Maalouf said IHG is not in the midscale sector with any brand, other than its all-suite Holiday Inn Express, an upper midscale flag in the select service sector. The new brand will combine design and tech amenities, he said.
