InterContinental Hotels Group has opened two new Hotel Indigos: one in Poland and the other in Alabama. The former—Hotel Indigo Warsaw-Nowy Swiat—features 60 guest rooms, some of which are dressed in dark gray shades and others showcasing a crisp white palette decorated with ornate moldings and columns as a reference to the city’s mix of architectural styles. Meanwhile, the 62-key Hotel Indigo Orange Beach in Alabama features accommodations decked out with modern furnishings and bold colors that reflect the nearby Gulf of Mexico.

Hilton has named David Marr senior vice president and global head of full service brands. He most recently served as senior vice president and a global brand leader at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where he oversaw its Tribute Portfolio and Sheraton Hotels & Resorts brands. In his new role, Marr will oversee Hilton’s flagship Hotels & Resorts brand, as well as its Curio Collection, DoubleTree and Tapestry Collection flags.

Arthur Adler, who has served as ceo of the Americas division of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Hotels & Hospitality Group for 17 years, has been promoted to the division’s chairman. In his new position, Adler will continue to be responsible for leading the group’s transactions businesses, including hotel sales and financing, and will also oversee its client relationship management strategy. As part of the move, the group’s global ceo, Mark Wynne Smith, will relocate to New York to oversee day-to-day operations for the Americas region.

Two Roads Hospitality has appointed Shel Bourdon as national director of bars. Most recently, Bourdon held the role of east coast brand ambassador for Beefeater and Plymouth Gin at Pernod Ricard USA. In the newly created role at Two Roads, she’s responsible for developing bar programming/concepts, educating beverage teams and overseeing the lifestyle company’s F&B venues at its Thompson-, Joie de Vivre-, Alila-, Destination- and tommie-branded hotels.

DAC, an Atlanta-based full-service art consultancy, has tapped Molly Frier to serve as a sales representative in California. Earlier in her career, Frier worked at HBA Santa Monica before starting her own company, MLP Hospitality, a multi-line manufacturer’s rep. She recently rebranded her company as Key & Commons.

Swire Hotels has unveiled the name of its new hotel in Shanghai: The Middle House. The hotel will house 111 guest rooms, as well as 102 serviced apartments, all of which will feature interiors by Milan-based designer Piero Lissoni. (The property’s architecture is by Lissoni Associati and Wong and Ouyang.) Swire Properties and HKR Intl. are teaming to develop the property, which will be part of the HKRI Taikoo Hui mixed-use complex when it debuts at year-end.

Carey Watermark Investors 2 Inc. (CWI 2) has acquired the Charlotte Marriott City Center. Located in the city’s Uptown central business district, the 446-key hotel completed a $40 million renovation last year and is home to Marriott Hotels M Beta innovation lab. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts has launched the Asia Investment Group, a practice geared toward providing hotel management services for Asian owners seeking to invest in hotels in the U.S and Europe. Led by group head Don Li, the team includes Jackie Lee, vice president of development and acquisitions, and Tina Chang, vice president of asset management.
