Hilton will see its all-inclusive resort portfolio expand due to its new strategic alliance with Playa Hotels & Resorts.
As part of the partnership, the Royal Playa del Carmen and Dreams La Romana will both be converted to Hilton properties by the end of the year. Playa will continue to manage the Dreams La Romana once it is rebranded to the Hilton La Romana. An additional eight resorts could also be converted by 2025.
“Our strategic alliance with Hilton is a win-win for both companies. This alliance will empower us to reach more guests, on more occasions, and in more geographies, than ever before. We view this as just a first step toward what is possible as part of this strategic alliance, and Playa is thrilled to continue to grow along-side Hilton and our other world class partners,” says Bruce Wardinski, Playa’s chairman and ceo.
The move strengthens Hilton’s footprint in the Caribbean and Latin America. The two resort conversions will add 1,269 rooms to Hilton’s portfolio. The hotelier currently has 140 resorts open and about 90 more properties in the pipeline for the region.
