Hotel Goldener Hirsch, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Salzburg in Austria has completed a full-scale renovation. The hotel has stood on the city’s historic Getreidegasse since 1407. The renovation covered the hotel’s 70 guestrooms and suites, and common areas which house its 612-year-old antique collection.
The hotel was designed with the intention of remaining true to the country house style. In the property’s lobby, contemporary leather accents are complemented by ancient arches and historic artifacts, such as the hand-carved reception desk and an heirloom wooden key case.
In the guestrooms, the renovation balances old with new. The solid wood flooring is offset by a palette of cornflower blue and antique white while traditional, hand-printed fabrics are used in rugs, curtains and cushion covers, all produced by local designer Jordis.
