Tokyo-based Fujita Kanko has unveiled plans for Tavinos, a new brand aimed at millennials and like-minded visitors who seek adventure during their travels. The design concept is based on Japanese pop culture with Manga, a form of comics and cartooning, spanning across the hotels.

Guestrooms will average about 129 sq. ft. with minimal furnishings and smart storage to maximize space. The lobby lounge will serve as a breakfast and communal area for guests. Additionally, an artificial intelligence concierge will be onsite to provide information to visitors.

The first hotel to open under the brand will be the 188-room Tavinos in Hamamatsuchō, Tokyo, in August 2019. The second property will follow in May 2020 with the debut of a 278-key hotel in Asakusa, Tokyo.
