NBBJ’s Shanghai design practice is teaming with Hirsch Bedner Associates’ (HBA) Singapore office to design the newbuild Four Seasons Hotel Dalian in China. Beijing-based developer Luneng Group plans to start work on the project later this year, with the hotel’s projected opening date set for 2020.
Planned for the city’s redeveloped Donggang Economic Development Zone, the property will be housed in a mixed-use tower that will also include office space. The hotel will be home to about 250 guest rooms and suites, as well as a pool, a fitness center and a spa.
Tokyo-based interior design firm STRICKLAND will create the on-site restaurants, as well as a hotel bar, lobby lounge and a deli and pastry shop with an outdoor terrace. Private event space, including several ballrooms and meeting rooms, are also on tap.
The luxury property will overlook the historic port and downtown hub of the city, which is located in northeastern China’s Liaodong Peninsula.
“We’re proud to work with Luneng Group to introduce another Four Seasons experience in China in such a diverse and fascinating city,” says J. Allen Smith, president and ceo, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
Tao Zhou, head of the hotel division at Luneng Group, adds: “We’re pleased to partner with Four Seasons to bring our combined vision to life as a crowning feature of the city’s new financial and commercial center.”
