Fairmont Hotels & Resorts’ Austin hotel has made its debut. The Fairmont Austin has 1,048 guest rooms, making it the largest member of the flag in the United States, as well as the second largest globally, in both number of keys and total meeting and event space.
The 37-story hotel is the second-tallest building in Austin and features a “lighted crown” that’s programmed with an array of color options and a 170-foot tall architectural spire that is illuminated in the evening.
The hotel’s guest rooms feature cool shades of blue, white and honey beige inspired by the Texas Hill Country landscape. Fairmont Gold, the brand’s lifestyle hotel experience, features 131 rooms and suites located on the 32nd through 35th floors.
The property also houses five F&B venues, including Garrison, a modern American grill house; Revue, serving Italian, Asian and seafood; the Rules & Regs bar on the 7th floor; the lobby bar Fulton; and the Good Things coffee shop. Other amenities include an outdoor pool, full-service spa, fitness center and nearly 140,000 sq. ft. of event space.
“A strategic opening for AccorHotels, Fairmont Austin is the first in a series of high-profile luxury developments marking a time of significant growth for the Group and its brands in North and Central America,” says Kevin Frid, chief operating officer, North & Central America, AccorHotels. “Other notable openings anticipated in the next 18 to 24 months include the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, Sofitel Mexico Reforma in Mexico City, Fairmont Costa Canuva in Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit, Fairmont Saint Lucia at Sunset Bay in the Caribbean, and several soon-to-be-announced projects with the potential to introduce new brands into the region.”
With more than 75 hotels worldwide, Fairmont continues to expand globally with recent openings in Istanbul, Jordan and Fujairah in the Middle East, and upcoming debuts set for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Abu Dhabi; Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt; Wuhan, China; and Maldives.
