The hotel’s F&B options include Skylawn, an outdoor venue; The Heist Bar & Lounge; Farm Café on the third floor, which features all-day dining set against lacquered barn wood and tiered landscaped terraces; and the Embassy Lounge cocktail bar.
BPGS Construction oversaw construction of the project, and PM Hotel Group performed technical services during programming, design and construction, and manages the newly opened hotel.
“Many travelers today can’t tell the difference between a hotel located in Cleveland or one in Canberra due to ‘generic hotel aesthetic blur,’” says Dave Pollin, BPGS co-founder. “We hired Campion Platt to set the tone and lead the design team due to his New York experience and sensibilities; they were apparent at our very first meeting. Campion grasps the city at its DNA level, including a deep historical understanding of the Garment District.”
Hilton Hotels & Resorts has opened the first representative of its Embassy Suites select-service flag in New York, a 39-story, 310-key property in Midtown Manhattan’s Garment District. CAMPION PLATT Interiors designed the hotel’s public areas, while HVS Design spearheaded the guest suite and corridor designs and PPA provided the architectural plans.Project participants say CAMPION PLATT’s designs for the hotel’s public areas are inspired by the city’s fashion industry, with such touches as cool metallic and colored glass interiors paired with contrasting textiles and set against a blend of commissioned art in partnership with Voltz Clarke. Other design elements include the loading dock’s glass wall, a movie-projection system, a three-story lobby “water column” and the lobby “jewel box,” an homage to New York’s famed diamond dealers.
